Normal for Norfolk, Devon visitors too it seems

Amongst a stolen broken washing machine and a man returning money he had stolen from a Ex-Serviceman's Club, Sheringham police report that someone telephoned them to say they thought Sammy The Sea Serpent, the inflatable mascot for the 2011 carnival, was 'suspicious'. A slippery suspect surely.

Serpents may well be unusual sea sightings, but the man who complained to the authorities because of crates of fish at a working harbour in Ilfracombe should be less surprised. Disgusted by the smell, the middle aged man also said the dead fish had distressed his children and that the fishermen should be more considerate of holiday makers. The man returned back to his hometown to feed his sprogs on fish fingers before the locals had a chance to lynch the Grockle.

Sheringham Park

Sheringham Park, one 'r' is the given spelling, is a delight at any time of the year. Should you happen to miss the rhododendrons that flower from spring to summer, you may be able to enjoy the copulating toads or the brisk walk down to the stony seashore via the two lofty lookout towers, which give breathtaking 360 degree vistas, on the way. If you're really lucky, patient or have a relevant timetable you may see, and smell, the historic North Norfolk Railway.

Sauntered up to Sheringham Park

Went to sunny Sheringham Park to walk with sort of relatives with five dogs and one less sproglet. Beautiful views matched by the calm winds and warm sunshine. I was proud to climb the Gazebo tower without thoughts of my vertigo and, unlike two years ago, I remained on my two feet and didn't need to sit down in the middle of the upper platform for five minutes to compose myself before a shaking, humiliating descent. It is the slight give under foot by the wooden boards that pervert the usually stable brain cells.
Wonderful views, though.

Weybourne beach was stony but beautiful with signs that the Dudgeon wind farm land fall cable site is being dredged just offshore with the implications to Pickenhams' nearby neighbours The Dunhams and the proposed sub station.
The children had fun, so did the dogs .

Green thumbs up for Sheringham store

Although further hurdles may need to be crossed, the eco friendly Greenhouse Community Project, backed by Waitrose, has beaten a rival more traditional supermarket bid by giant Tesco in a decision by the local planning committee. Tesco has been trying to have a store in Sheringham for 13 years without success with local fears the store would negatively affect the unique mix of small, family run stores in the town. Although Sheringham residents have buzzing market town style traditional retailers, the nearest supermarket is next door in Cromer.

The GCP will incorporate new allotments, a compact store and a cookery school for locals and outsiders alike. A unique project for a unique county.
